The Meadows

During the 1930s, Las Vegas was a relatively small and isolated desert town, with a population of just over 5,000 people. Despite its small size, the town was home to several casinos and gambling establishments, including the Meadows Casino.

After the legalization of gambling in 1931, the Meadows Club opened as one of the first casinos in Las Vegas. It was thought to be one of the finest casinos in the decades after its opening, as it had elegant dining and live entertainment and was conveniently located on Boulder Hwy. to attract dam workers before they reached Fremont St

Opened by brothers Frank & Louis Cornero on Boulder Highway, Meadows was one of the first 7 licensed casinos in Las Vegas, and a distant forerunner of the modern resorts that followed in the 1940s.
